BAGHDAD: An Iraqi armed group carried out a drone and rocket attack on the Victory Base near Baghdad International Airport, killing 10 U.S. military personnel, local reports said.
The assault also caused fires and reportedly injured five others.
Russian media reported that the attack targeted the base with a combination of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) and rockets, causing significant damage. The group had previously released footage of a drone strike on the same base the day before.
The incident adds to a series of recent attacks on U.S. and allied military positions in the region. No official statement from the U.S. military has yet been released.
