ECNEC Approves 28 Development Projects to Boost National Growth

ISLAMABAD: The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved 28 major development projects covering energy, infrastructure, education, health, environment, administration, and public services at both federal and provincial levels.

The approvals were given during a high-level meeting held in Islamabad today, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.

Addressing the session, the Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s strong resolve to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth. He stressed the importance of strengthening institutions and laying the groundwork for long-term economic resilience and prosperity.

According to officials, the approved projects are expected to accelerate socio-economic development, improve service delivery, and enhance the country’s competitiveness in key sectors.

Among the major initiatives, several energy sector projects aim to expand electricity generation capacity, modernize transmission systems, and promote renewable energy sources. Infrastructure schemes include the construction of highways, bridges, and mass transit facilities to improve connectivity and facilitate trade.

In the social sector, significant allocations have been made for upgrading educational institutions, expanding healthcare facilities, and implementing environmental conservation programs.

Administrative and public service reforms are also part of the package, targeting greater efficiency, transparency, and citizen-centric governance.

The meeting also underscored the government’s commitment to ensuring that development initiatives are aligned with national priorities and contribute to balanced regional progress.
