All educational institutions in Islamabad closed
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad capital territory administration on Sunday announced that educational institutions in the federal capital will remain closed due to the protest by PTI on Monday.
A notification issued in this regard stated that the order will apply to all schools, colleges and universities in the public and private sectors.
The capital administration said that the decision to close the educational institutions had been taken in view of the current situation in the wake of the protest launched by a political party.
It is uncertain when the educational institutions will reopen as the PTI protest seems to be prolonged as its leaders are adamant not to end the agitation until their demands are met.
The government has virtually locked down the city by blocking its entry and exit points by putting shipping containers. The major roads in the capital city and its suburbs are also blocked.
The PTI has started its protest rallies towards the federal capital from different parts of the country, especially Khyber Pakthunkhwa. The party leaders have announced that the rallies would gather at D Chowk in Islamabad snd stage a sit-in till the government accepts all its demands.
The demands include immediate release of jailed former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan.
