RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed eight terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Kalat district of Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.
The ISPR said that the operation was conducted on December 24 after receiving intelligence about the presence of terrorists allegedly linked to an Indian-sponsored proxy group operating in the area. Security forces effectively targeted the terrorists’ hideout, leading to a fierce exchange of fire.
ISPR stated that all eight terrorists were killed during the operation. Weapons, ammunition, and explosive materials were recovered from their possession. The terrorists were reportedly involved in multiple terrorist activities in the region.
The statement added that clearance and search operations are ongoing in the area to eliminate any remaining terrorists allegedly operating with foreign support.
Reaffirming its commitment under the National Action Plan and the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam” approved by the Federal Apex Committee, ISPR said security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue counterterrorism operations until the complete eradication of terrorism from the country.
