ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan has claimed that its election management system (EMS) will work without any interruption even if there is no internet connection.
Talking to media, Col Saad, head of EMS at the Election Commission of Pakistan, said that with the help of mobile phone service providers, the EMS had been devised in such a way that it would work to transmit election results from any part of the country to the ECP in Islamabad.
Meanwhile, walking to media, information and broadcasting minister Murtaza Solanagi termed as baseless claims on social media that internet and mobile phone services will remain suspended on election day.
He said elections had in the past been conducted smoothly in more critical times in the country, adding the caretaker government had put in place all arrangements for holding the elections in a gree and transparent manner.
