Pakistan have retained the same playing XI that defeated Sri Lanka in their opening match, making no changes to the side for the Rawalpindi encounter.
The match marks the first ODI between Pakistan and England on Pakistani soil in 21 years. Their previous ODI meeting in Pakistan took place on December 21, 2005, when England won the match, although Pakistan went on to win the series 3–2.
England played three ODIs in Pakistan during the 2025 Champions Trophy and lost all three matches.
In the current ICC ODI rankings, England are placed fourth, while Pakistan occupy fifth position.
England arrived in Pakistan after defeating Sri Lanka 2–1 in a recent ODI series. Their last ODI series victory in Pakistan came during the 1987–88 season.
Pakistan, meanwhile, have remained unbeaten in their last three ODI series on home soil. The national team has also lost just one of its previous 10 ODIs played in Rawalpindi.
