ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal has reaffirmed government’s commitment to providing a safe and conducive environment for Chinese investors under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Chairing a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Chinese Investment Projects, the minister reviewed progress on CPEC initiatives and directed concerned departments to immediately resolve pending issues impacting Chinese-funded projects.
“Facilitating Chinese investors is a top priority. We are removing obstacles and strengthening coordination to ensure confidence and ease of doing business,” Ahsan Iqbal stated.
He stressed that CPEC Phase II, which focuses on industrial cooperation and socio-economic development, requires a supportive and secure investment climate.
Highlighting Gwadar Port as a future regional trade hub, he also underscored the need to accelerate infrastructure projects while safeguarding local livelihoods, particularly those of fishermen.
The minister concluded by reaffirming the government’s broader goal of promoting foreign investment, job creation, and timely delivery of strategic projects.
