EU Announces Additional €3 Million for Flood Victims in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The European Union (EU) has announced an additional emergency aid of €3 million for populations severely affected by floods in Pakistan.

This aid will be directed to the areas in Punjab that suffered the worst damage during the recent monsoon season.

The assistance from the EU will be provided in the form of cash support to meet the immediate basic needs of the most affected people.

Earlier in September, the EU had also provided €1.05 million, which was used for health, clean water, sanitation, and other essential services.

This year, monsoon rains have affected nearly 7 million people across Pakistan, displaced over 2.9 million, and caused thousands of deaths along with severe damage to homes, agricultural land, and crops.

EU officials described this aid as a demonstration of global solidarity and said it will be crucial for the affected families. With the latest contribution, EU aid to Pakistan in 2025 has exceeded €14.5 million.
