ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir has said that even 10 generations of terrorists cannot harm Balochistan or Pakistan, as long as the proud people stand with the armed forces.
He was speaking at the inaugural session of Overseas Pakistanis Convention held in Islamabad.
“I am deeply moved by the sentiments of overseas Pakistanis I witnessed today, and I assure you that our feelings for you are even stronger,” he said. “You are not just ambassadors of Pakistan; you are the light that shines upon the entire world.”
Rejecting the narrative of “brain drain,” the army chief described the diaspora as a prime example of “brain gain.” He urged overseas Pakistanis to pass on the story of Pakistan’s struggle and founding vision to the next generation.
Speaking about Balochistan, General Munir said, “Do our enemies really believe that a handful of terrorists can decide Pakistan’s destiny? Even 10 generations of terrorists cannot harm Balochistan or Pakistan. Balochistan is our pride and part of our destiny.” He emphasized that the nation holds its martyrs in the highest esteem and their sacrifices will never be forgotten.
Highlighting the country’s potential, the army chief said Pakistan is blessed with immense natural resources and that the people must always be thankful for it. “We are giving a clear message today: anyone who stands in the way of Pakistan’s development will be removed, unitedly.”
He encouraged overseas Pakistanis to always hold their heads high, saying, “You represent not just any country, but a great and powerful nation. Kashmir is Pakistan’s jugular vein and will remain so. The hearts of Pakistanis always beat with the Muslims of Gaza.”
