ISLAMABAD: Former foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar has said that the statement of Khyber Pakthunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to hold direct talks with the Taliban regime of Afghanistan was ridiculous.
Speaking in a Geo TV program Ms Khar said that those issuing such statements should look into the consequences of the agreement to bring back the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.
She said that the Afghan interim government understands well that the outlawed TTP is the red line of Pakistan, but our neighbors never gave any serious importance to it.
A few days ago, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Gandapur should go to Afghanistan rather the Afghan regime should keep the chief minister of Khyber Pakthunkhwa as its guest for ever.
Earlier, the chief minister of Khyber Pakthunkhwa announced that he would hold direct talks with the interim government in Kabul and will also send delegations to Afghanistan to hold talks abd resolve issues between the two countries.
