KOTLI: An explosion inside garbage storage warehouse situated on Tatta Pani Bypass Road in Kotli Azad Kashmir left three persons dead and several injured on Sunday.
Preliminary details suggest that the blast took place within the warehouse where various discarded materials were stored. The powerful explosion claimed three lives instantly, while numerous other people sustained injuries of different levels, some of whom are reported to be in a critical condition.
Rescue and emergency teams promptly reached the site, providing immediate assistance and shifting all injured victims to the District Hospital Kotli for urgent medical treatment. Hospital authorities confirmed that several patients are undergoing intensive care due to the severity of their wounds.
Local law-enforcement officials have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion and to assess whether hazardous materials were present in the facility.
