Faith leaders come together at Iftar dinner in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The Muslim Council of Elders Pakistan hosted an interfaith Iftar dinner, convening faith leaders and representatives from diverse communities.

The extraordinary event commemorated 11 years of tireless global peacebuilding efforts and combating Islamophobia, underscoring the vital importance of interfaith dialogue and cooperation in fostering peace and harmony.

As a faith leader, I am profoundly grateful to MCE for organizing this momentous occasion. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the MCE team for their unwavering dedication to promoting interfaith harmony and fostering mutual respect.

I also expressed special gratitude to President Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed El-Tayeb for expanding MCE’s efforts to Pakistan, engaging diverse faith leaders and bridging gaps between global communities.

The Interfaith Iftar dinner highlighted the converging values and principles shared among diverse faith traditions, emphasizing the significance of fasting in spiritual growth and communal bonding. From Ramadan in Islam to Navratri in Hinduism, Lent in Christianity, and Yom Kippur in Judaism, fasting embodies our universal quest for spiritual renewal.

Notable attendees, including Professor Dr. Qibla Ayaz, Dr. Pir Noor-ul-Haq Qadri, Professor Dr. Kalyan Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Qari Roohullah Madani, Bishop Kamran Nadim, Dr. Israr Madani, and El Said Khattab, deserve special recognition for their invaluable contributions to this noble cause.

The Interfaith Iftar dinner demonstrated the transformative power of shared meals, stories, and experiences in dismantling barriers and cultivating appreciation for diverse traditions. By promoting interfaith dialogue and cooperation, we can foster a deeper understanding and respect among different faith communities.

I am committed to working with MCE worldwide to advance this mission. We encourage everyone to attend future interfaith events, support initiatives promoting peace and harmony, and engage in respectful dialogue with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Together, we can build a more harmonious and peaceful world.
