LAHORE: Falak Javed has been granted bail by the Lahore Sessions Court in a high-profile case concerning a controversial tweet.
Additional Sessions Judge Dr. Sajida Ahmed approved his bail application after hearing arguments from the defense.
According to court sources, Falak Javed had been facing charges for sharing a controversial post on social media. The court ordered him to submit a bail bond of PKR 100,000. Prior to this, he had been placed under judicial remand in connection with the case.
In court, Falak Javed was represented by Advocate Abdul Ma’roof, who presented the bail petition on his behalf. The Additional Sessions Judge, Dr. Sajida Ahmed, after reviewing the details, approved the bail.
Previously, a Judicial Magistrate had sent Falak Javed to jail for 14 days in relation to tweets allegedly targeting state institutions
