Fazal, Bilawal Discuss Potential Electoral Alliance in AJK

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman held a meeting to discuss a possible electoral alliance in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) ahead of the upcoming elections.

The meeting took place at Fazlur Rehman’s residence in Islamabad and included senior leaders from both parties. Representing the PPP were Raja Pervez Ashraf, Nayyar Bukhari, and PPP Azad Kashmir President Chaudhry Yasin. JUI-F leaders, including Asad Mahmood and Senator Kamran Murtaza, were also present.

According to sources, the leaders exchanged views on the current political climate, regional developments, and important national issues. A one-on-one meeting between Fazlur Rehman and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also took place, during which sensitive political matters were discussed in detail.

The discussions particularly focused on the upcoming elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Both parties seriously considered forming an electoral alliance for these regions.

The two parties have agreed to establish a joint committee. This committee will work on finalizing the details and framework of the potential alliance.
