The FBR collected Rs1.722 trillion in taxes during July and August, against a target of Rs1.710 trillion for the period.

The revenue authority also issued Rs155 billion in tax refunds during the first two months of the fiscal year. This represents an increase of Rs31 billion in refunds compared with the same period last year.

The latest figures indicate that the FBR has managed to exceed its revenue target despite the higher refund payments, providing an early boost to the government’s efforts to strengthen tax collection and improve fiscal performance.

Authorities are expected to maintain the pace of revenue collection in the coming months to meet the overall tax targets set for the fiscal year.
