ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has categorically announced that the deadline for filing income tax returns for the tax year 2025 will remain September 30, 2025, with no extension to be granted.
In a statement, the FBR rejected reports about a possible extension, terming them “baseless and misleading.” The authority also dismissed attempts to link the extension to recent floods, saying that the majority of taxpayers were not affected and had sufficient time to file their returns.
Addressing concerns about technical issues, the FBR clarified that its IRIS portal is fully functional and denied claims of system slowdowns.
The tax authority has urged taxpayers to submit their returns well before the deadline to avoid last-minute difficulties.
