In an awareness message, the FBR advised taxpayers to carefully review details of their financial transactions, income and assets before submitting their returns and to enter all information correctly.

The tax authority said every piece of information provided in an income tax return must be accurate and that relevant documentary evidence should be submitted wherever required.

Taxpayers have been advised to thoroughly review their financial records before filing their returns to avoid difficulties arising from errors, discrepancies or incomplete information.

According to the FBR, its modern automated system is capable of identifying incorrect, incomplete or inconsistent information provided in tax returns.

The FBR therefore urged taxpayers to accurately declare their income, assets and other relevant financial details and pay the tax due in accordance with the applicable requirements.

The tax authority said taxpayers should avoid providing false or misleading information and warned that discrepancies detected through its automated system could result in further scrutiny.

Taxpayers can file their income tax returns through the FBR’s official website or the Tax Asaan mobile application. The FBR has also advised taxpayers to contact its helpline or visit their nearest tax office for further guidance.

The FBR urged taxpayers not to wait until the final deadline and to file their returns in a timely manner, ensuring that all required information is complete and accurate.
