ISLAMABAD: While the federal government is presenting annual budget on Tuesday afternoon, the All Government Employees Grand Alliance (AGEGA) has announced a sit-in protest outside the Parliament House in Islamabad.

Thousands of government employees from across the country are expected to gather in the capital to demand their rights.

AGEGA leader Rehman Ali Bajwa stated that government employees are determined to fight for their rights and are ready to make any sacrifice if necessary.

He demanded full implementation of the agreement made with AGEGA Pakistan, elimination of disparities in salaries, and the provision of a 30% Disparity Reduction Allowance.

Bajwa criticized the proposed pension reforms, calling them an “economic murder” of employees, and emphasized that elderly pensioners deserve a dignified life. He also demanded a 100% increase in medical, conveyance, and house allowances.

Furthermore, the protestors are urging the government to reinstate the tax rebate for teachers on their salaries.
