According to sources, a bill concerning the Islamabad local government system will be presented to the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Interior for approval on Thursday.
Sources said the proposed system will comprise three constituencies, with council representation including general councillors as well as seats for women and minorities.
Following approval by the Interior Committee, the bill will be presented before the Senate and National Assembly for consideration and approval.
The proposed system is expected to establish a formal local government structure in Islamabad, subject to approval by Parliament.
