ISLAMABAD: A female teacher lost her life and 20 students sustained injuries when a bus they were travelling in fell off the road into a ravine at Shahdara picnic point located near Islamabad on Saturday.
Police and rescue officials said 13 teachers, 22 male and 21 female students were among 54 people in the bus when the accident occurred.
The officials said that the driver had stopped the bus along the roadside and alighted when the bus started moving down the slope terrain. Some of those on board the bus had also disembarked.
However, one female teacher lost her life and 20 students were injured in the accident. The dead body and the injured students were shifted to Polyclinic hospital in Islamabad, where their condition was stable.
The police said the bus driver, Muhammad Riaz, escaped after the accident.
