FIFA Suspends Pakistan Football Federation Over Failure of Constitution Revision

ZURICH : FIFA has suspended the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) with immediate effect, citing its failure to implement a revised constitution ensuring fair and democratic elections. This latest suspension, announced by the Bureau of the FIFA Council, further deepens Pakistan’s football turmoil, barring the country from international competitions and cutting off FIFA’s development support.

The suspension will remain in place until the PFF Congress formally adopts the constitution proposed by FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). FIFA’s decision underscores its firm stance on governance reforms, which Pakistan has struggled to implement amid years of internal disputes and administrative deadlocks.

This is not the first time Pakistan has faced FIFA sanctions. The repeated governance issues have severely hampered the growth of football in the country, frustrating players, fans, and stakeholders alike. With Pakistan now sidelined from global football, urgent action is needed to resolve the crisis and bring the nation back into FIFA’s fold.
