ISLAMABAD: A fire broke out in the basement of the S-1 Block at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) House in Islamabad on Thursday, reportedly due to a short circuit.
The blaze was quickly contained by timely action from the fire brigade and rescue teams, with no casualties reported.
According to rescue sources, the fire erupted in the basement of the guest accommodation block. Emergency teams arrived promptly, evacuated the area as a precaution, and extinguished the fire before it could spread further.
Police officials confirmed that the affected section is reserved for official guests. Fortunately, no lives were lost, and the building was safeguarded from further damage.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, while safety checks across the premises are expected to be reinforced.
