LAHORE: The auction for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans will take place on February 9 at the Expo Centre in Lahore.
According to details, five bidders, including former owner Ali Tareen, are participating in the auction process. The base price of the franchise is reportedly set at approximately Rs1.8 billion. The auction will be held just two days before the PSL 11 players’ auction, which is scheduled for February 11 in Lahore.
Multan Sultans have not retained any players ahead of the new season, meaning the incoming franchise owner will have the opportunity to build an entirely new squad for PSL 11.
Besides Ali Tareen, technology firms Wally Tech and M-Next Inc are also taking part in the bidding process.
Both companies had previously participated in the auction for the Hyderabad and Sialkot franchises last month but were unsuccessful. Two new companies — CD Venture and Particle Ignite — are entering the PSL auction process for the first time, intensifying competition for the franchise.
