Five people were killed and scores of others missing when a boat capsized in Nigeria’s Anambra state, foreign media reported on Tuesday evening.
The boat was coming to Anambra from another province of the country when it sank in the Niger River. Local rescuers saved about 30 people. The cause behind the sinking of the boat was yet to be known.
Officials feared that there could be an increase in the death toll as exact number of people travelling in the boat was not yet clear.
