BAJAUR: At least five policemen were martyred and 23 others people injured in a bomb blast in the Bajaur district of Khyber Pakthunkhwa early on Monday.
Police said the personnel were going on security duty with polio teams when their vehicle was targetted in Mamund area.
The martyred and injured police officials were shifted to the Khaar hospital.
Out of the 22 injured, 10 were serious and shifted from Bajaur to Peshawar.
A nationwide polio campaign started this morning. Terror attacks on security forces and police have increased in the recent months. After the incident, polio drive in Bajaur has been suspended.
Terrorists are targeting security forces in Khyber Pakthunkhwa and Balochistan without any check.
