RAHIM YAR KHAN: Police here killed five alleged robbers during an exchange of fire late Saturday night. According to police officials, the suspects had earlier snatched Rs 600,000 in cash from a citizen named Hashim.
Police received information through an emergency 15 call and immediately launched an operation, chasing the fleeing suspects. When the Kot Samaba Police attempted to stop the robbers at a checkpoint near Shahgarh, the suspects opened fire on the police party.
Police retaliated, resulting in a gun battle during which five robbers were killed. Law enforcement officials recovered the robbers’ vehicle, the looted cash, and weapons from the scene.
Police stated that the identification of the deceased suspects is underway. District Police Officer Irfan Ali Samo praised the police teams for their swift and effective action.
