RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed five terrorists and injured three others in intelligence-based operations conducted in two separate areas of Balochistan, the ISPR said in a statement in Rawalpindi today.

The statement said that the operations were conducted in Zhob and Panjgoor on the basis of intelligence about the presence of terrorists in these areas.

The operations were conducted in response to terrorist attacks of Aug 26 in which terror elements blocked highways and roads, shot dead 54 people and torched over 10 vehicles.

The ISPR added that the security forces were determined to continue their operations till the elimination of all the terrorists and their facilitators. It said there would be no compromise on peace and development of Balochistan.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif yesterday said that enemies of Pakistan wanted to sabotage CPEC in Balochistan and derail the ties between Pakistan and China. He said there was no need to hold talks with the terrorists and vowed to crush them out.
