ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Wednesday announced that its consular services will remain suspended during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s summit in Islamabad.
It said the consular services will be unavailable from October 14 to 17 as part of security arrangements for the Council of Heads of Government Meeting of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The liaison offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Gujarat will continue to offer consular services, said the ministry in a statement.
The federal government has also announced public holiday in Islamabad and Rawalpindi from October 14 to 16. Moreover, army has been called out in Islamabad and Rawalpindi from October 5 to 17.
