VIRGINIA: Dr. Faiqa Nur Khan, daughter of former Pakistan Air Force Chief Air Marshal (Retd) Nur Khan, has died in a traffic accident in the United States.
US media reported that a local pediatrician was killed over the weekend in Dinwiddie County, Virginia. The victim was identified as 75-year-old Faiqa Aftab Qureshi. Virginia State Police said that her car struck the road barrier, after which it caught fire. Dr. Qureshi, who was alone in the vehicle, died at the scene.
Dr. Qureshi began her medical career in 1993 at Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters, where she later served for a long period as Medical Director of the Emergency Department. The hospital stated that her dedication to children and families, along with her role in mentoring future doctors, left a lasting impact.
King Edward Medical University (KEMU), Lahore, also expressed deep sorrow over her passing in a statement shared on social media.
The university noted that Dr. Faiqa was a distinguished alumna and daughter of former Air Marshal Nur Khan, and that she graduated from KEMU in 1973.
