According to the CTD, three SMGs, a pistol, hand grenades, magazines and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants.
An Afghan identity card was also found in the pocket of one of the deceased, indicating that he was from Kunar, Afghanistan, the CTD said.
Two motorcycles allegedly used by the militants were taken into custody following the operation.
The identification process of the slain militants is under way, while a search operation has been launched to trace their accomplices who managed to escape from the scene.
CTD officials said the Crime Scene Unit and Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) had been called to collect evidence and examine the site.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hamid said operations against militants would continue without discrimination.
He added that terrorists and their facilitators would not be allowed to disrupt law and order in the province.
