Four terrorists including commander killed in Peshawar operation: ISPR

Operation conducted at hideout of terrorists in densely populated area of Badabhir.

PESHAWAR: Security forces in an intelligence-based operation in the city of Peshawar killed four terrorists, including their commander, the military’s media wing stated on Thursday.

It added that based in intelligence, the hideout of the terrorists was located in the densely populated area of Badabhir in the Peshawar city.

During the operation, the terrorists opened fire on the security forces but they were killed along with their commander.

The ISPR identified the commander as Sanaullah alias Shenai, adding he was a high value target and had been involved in many terror activities including attacking in security forces.

A day earlier, security forces in another intelligence-based operation killed seven terrorists in Kiri Machan Khel area of of Tank in Khyber Pakthunkhwa.

It added that weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists. The terrorists killed today were involved in numerous terror activities including recent target killings of police, said the ISPR.

Terrorist activities have increased in the KP and Balochistan provinces bordering Afghanistan, especially since the takeover of Kabul by Taliban in 2021.

The ISPR often gives details about the terror attacks on security forces and within the last about a couple of months scores of army personnel have embraced martyrdom while fighting the terrorists from Chitral to Balochistan.
