Freedom of expression is everyone’s right, but freedom of expression should not hurt anyone: Justin Trudeau
“We defend the right to freedom of expression, but it has some limitations and it should not be used to hurt anyone,” said Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. “We must respect others” Canadian PM said.
He said that we should be aware of the effects of our words and actions on others and not say anything that would hurt the feelings of those around us, especially those who face widespread discrimination in society.
Furthermore, he said that society is ready for debate on sensitive issues with responsibility.
Referring to the recent attacks in France, the Canadian Prime Minister said that these attacks are illegal and unjustified and cannot be supported at all, however, the people of Canada stand with the French people in this difficult time.
