ISLAMABAD: Chief Election Commissioner Skendar Sultan Raja on Thursday said that the Election Commission of Pakistan was fully prepared to hold elections in the country on February 8.
In his message on on the occasion of National Voters’ Day, he said that there should be no ambiguity that the elections would be held as announced on February 8.
The Election Commission of Pakistan is busy in putting all arrangements in place to hold the polls in a fair and free manner, he added.
He said that the printing of the electoral rolls was completed and would be dispatched soon.
A notification for the appointment of the returning officers snd other election duty officials would be issued soon, he added.
Raja said that the Election Commission of Pakistan would also announce the election schedule in a few days, repeating that the elections would be held on February 8.
It may be mentioned here that the government has already assured the Supreme Court of Pakistan that the elections would be held on February 8.
However, many observers have expressed the apprehensions that the elections would be further delayed due to law and order situation in the country, especially terror terror attacks in Khyber Pakthunkhwa and Balochistan provinces.
