German Envoy, KP Governor Vow To Enhance Bilateral Cooperation

PESHAWAR: German Ambassador to Pakistan Anna Luepel met Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi to discuss key areas of mutual interest, including bilateral relations, trade, investment and development cooperation.

The meeting highlighted Germany’s ongoing support for development and welfare projects in the province. Governor Kundi proposed a joint Pakistan-Germany initiative to revitalize the region’s railway infrastructure, noting that improving the railway network in Peshawar could serve as a catalyst for boosting tourism and enhancing trade and travel connections, particularly with Central Asian nations.

Kundi also emphasized the untapped investment opportunities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, suggesting that more youth from the province be included in Germany’s Student Exchange Program. He stressed that the region offers significant economic potential, which could benefit both countries through increased investment and collaboration.

Ambassador Luepel acknowledged the strategic importance of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, underscoring the province’s rich natural beauty and pivotal location. She reaffirmed Germany’s enduring friendship with the people of Pakistan, particularly the residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and expressed her commitment to further strengthening the bilateral relationship.

The discussions also touched upon expanding cooperation in education, infrastructure, and social development, with both sides expressing a shared commitment to advancing their partnership for mutual benefit.

This meeting is expected to further solidify Germany-Pakistan ties, fostering deeper collaboration in key sectors that will promote economic growth, development, and cultural exchange.
