BERLIN: The German government has announced the immediate termination of its Afghan refugee program.

According to international media, the decision comes in response to Afghan refugees’ involvement in crimes and serious security concerns. German media report that Germany has refused entry to 640 Afghan refugees.

The German Ministry of the Interior stated that Afghan refugees waiting to enter Germany now have no prospects of admission.

Reports also highlight that the extremist policies of the Afghan Taliban have forced the international community to limit diplomatic relations with Afghanistan.

According to Arab media reports, in 2024, Germany deported 28 Afghan nationals for criminal activities, and in 2025, the number rose to 81.
