ISLAMABAD: Acting President Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani highlighted the close friendship and strategic cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, saying both nations are committed to building a stable, prosperous, and secure region.
Speaking at a Victory Day dinner in Azerbaijan, he praised the longstanding support and collaboration between the two brotherly countries in trade, investment, and energy.
The event was attended by diplomats, political figures, and social leaders, and featured the armed forces band performing both national anthems along with a special documentary commemorating Azerbaijan’s Victory Day.
Acting President Gillani said, “Pakistan and Azerbaijan have always stood shoulder to shoulder. Together, we remain dedicated to strengthening our region and advancing shared goals.”
Azerbaijan’s ambassador, Khazar Farhadov, thanked Pakistan and Turkey for their unwavering support, noting that the event also marked the fifth anniversary of Azerbaijan’s patriotic 44-day war and liberation of occupied territories. Guests enjoyed traditional Azerbaijani music and a ceremonial cake-cutting as part of the celebrations.
