ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today announced that the benefits of the global oil prices decrease will be transferred immediately to the public.
The price drop comes after Pakistan’s successful diplomatic efforts helped secure a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran, easing tensions in the region and stabilizing global energy markets.
During a meeting with Engineer Amir Muqam, Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, the minister commended the Prime Minister for his historic relief package for citizens and his national austerity measures during challenging times. He also lauded Pakistan’s role in promoting regional peace amid recent developments.
The discussions further covered the country’s political situation and ongoing development projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described the ceasefire between the US and Iran as a historic diplomatic success for Pakistan, calling the day a milestone in the nation’s foreign policy achievements.
He reiterated that the government will ensure that the reduction in global oil prices is passed on to the public immediately, with additional steps to be considered in upcoming cabinet meetings.
