ISLAMABAD: Global crude oil prices continued to rise after the United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran, escalating tensions in the Middle East and unsettling international markets.
Brent crude oil climbed to $83 per barrel, reflecting growing concerns over potential disruptions to global energy supplies.
Meanwhile, gold prices also recorded a significant increase at the start of trading. The price of gold rose by nearly 2 percent, gaining $88 per ounce to reach $5,176 per ounce, as investors turned to safe-haven assets amid geopolitical uncertainty.
Stock markets across several countries experienced notable declines. According to international media reports, South Korea’s stock exchange fell by 6 percent, while Japan’s market dropped by 3 percent.
Analysts suggest that continued geopolitical instability in the region could further impact global commodity prices and financial markets in the coming days.
