Good to see prompt action against consulate attackers: CM

Maryam Nawaz and Ambassador Alfred Grannas discuss trade and investment at Lahore meeting.

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday said that she was happy over prompt action taken by the authorities in Germany against those who ransacked Pakistani consulate in Frankfurt.

The chief minister was talking to German Ambassador Alfred Grannas who met her at the Chief Minister Secretariate in Lahore.

According to media reports, Afghan nationals holding a rally in the German city entered the Pakistani consulate and vandalized it. They also pulled down the national flag of Pakistan and tried to burn it. The German police have arrested some of the attackers.

Chief Minister Maryam expressed the hope that all those responsible for the attack would be punished. The two sides at the Lahore meeting discussed trade and investment.

The German ambassador appreciated steps being taken by the Punjab government yo facilitate foreign investors in the province.
