All Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance President Malik Shehzad Awan said the strike had continued for seven days, with transporters across the country protesting over their demands.
He said a meeting had also been held with the Sindh chief minister, who directed the provincial interior minister and other officials to address the transporters’ concerns.
Awan said the peaceful strike would continue indefinitely until all demands were accepted and official notifications were issued.
He added that transporters would not end their protest on the basis of government assurances alone and would remain on strike until their demands were formally approved.
