Speaking on a TV programme, Shafi Jan claimed that the court had ordered Imran Khan to be taken to Shifa International Hospital and alleged that no PTI workers were present outside the hospital.

He further claimed that Imran Khan had not undergone the required medical tests and that only his blood pressure was checked before an injection was administered in his eye.

Shafi Jan questioned what medical report the government would present before the Supreme Court, saying that any report produced by the government would not be acceptable to his party.

He alleged that the government had disregarded the Supreme Court’s order and said the matter would now be taken up as a possible contempt of court case.

Shafi Jan also said PTI would move towards street protests, claiming that even those within the party who had previously supported negotiations were now in favour of taking to the streets.

His remarks came after PIMS confirmed that Imran Khan had undergone a medical examination by specialist doctors.

According to the PIMS administration, two ophthalmology specialists from Shifa International Hospital also examined him, while PIMS doctors conducted a detailed assessment.

PIMS said a medical board prepared Imran Khan’s medical fitness report but clarified that its contents would not be disclosed in accordance with Supreme Court directions and patient confidentiality requirements.

The hospital administration further stated that Imran Khan was shifted to PIMS because of security concerns and overcrowding at Shifa International Hospital and was later taken back to Adiala Jail after the medical examination.

The conflicting claims have intensified the political controversy surrounding Imran Khan’s hospital transfer, with the PTI leadership demanding greater clarity over his medical assessment and the government maintaining that the decision to shift him to PIMS was taken after considering the security situation.
