Govt Committed To Sustainable Economic Reforms: Minister

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has reaffirmed that Pakistan’s economic direction remains on the right track, underscoring the government’s commitment to pursuing comprehensive and sustainable economic reforms.

Addressing a joint press conference alongside other federal ministers in Islamabad, Aurangzeb emphasized that international rating agencies have acknowledged the country’s macroeconomic stability and the steady progress achieved under the current administration’s reform agenda.

He added that the recent staff-level agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) stands as further validation of Pakistan’s improving economic fundamentals.

The finance minister highlighted that the reduction in the policy rate has produced positive and far-reaching effects on various sectors of the economy, strengthening investor confidence and promoting sustainable growth. “Our economic direction is correct,” he reiterated, expressing optimism about the trajectory of Pakistan’s financial and fiscal policies.

Aurangzeb further noted that the government is focused on consolidating its recent achievements by strengthening key economic sectors, attracting domestic and foreign investment, and ensuring long-term fiscal discipline.

He assured that the government’s economic team remains committed to achieving stability, growth, and prosperity for the people of Pakistan.
