NAWABSHAH: A significant development has occurred during a high-level meeting between a government delegation and President Arif Ali Zardari.

According to reports, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have agreed to refrain from engaging in inflammatory statements, signaling a potential easing of political tensions.

The meeting, held in Nawabshah, was aimed at reducing the ongoing friction between the Punjab government and the PPP-led Sindh government.

The government delegation included Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, all of whom played key roles in facilitating dialogue.

Sources indicate that during the discussion, President Zardari urged the delegation to advise their party members to avoid actions that could escalate political disputes or destabilize governance.

In response, the PML-N committee emphasized that the PPP should also refrain from making provocative statements, highlighting a mutual commitment to de-escalation.

It was further agreed that before addressing any major issues, both sides would ensure that each party’s position is fully heard and understood. This approach marks an important step toward fostering dialogue, building trust, and maintaining political stability amid a period of heightened tension.

Political analysts view this meeting as a constructive move that may pave the way for improved communication and cooperation between the ruling government and opposition parties, reflecting a shared interest in preventing further discord.
