ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Finance has announced a significant hike in the prices of petroleum products, as outlined in a recent notification.
Effective from midnight tonight, the price of petrol will increase by Rs. 2.43 per liter, while the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) will rise by Rs. 3.02 per liter.
With this increase, the new price of petrol will be Rs. 265.45 per liter, and High-Speed Diesel will be priced at Rs. 278.44 per liter. The government cited rising global oil prices and domestic market conditions as reasons behind the price adjustments.
This price hike is expected to have a ripple effect on transportation costs, which could contribute further to inflation and strain household budgets across the country. The government has urged the public to be mindful of the changes and their potential impact on everyday expenses.
