ISLAMABAD: In a key meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, strict measures were approved against Pakistani nationals deported from abroad.

It was decided that First Information Reports (FIRs) will be registered against those who are deported, and their passports will be canceled.

Furthermore, the names of deported individuals will be placed on the Passport Control List for five years, preventing them from obtaining new passports during that period.

The meeting also decided to establish a special committee under the leadership of the Interior Secretary to make passport laws stricter and more effective.

Addressing the meeting, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that deported individuals are causing international embarrassment for Pakistan. He emphasized that no leniency will be shown to such individuals in the future.

These measures are part of the government’s broader efforts to discourage illegal migration and to improve the country’s image on the international stage.
