ISLAMABAD: The government has announced plans to observe Earth Day on Saturday with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directing that lights be switched off from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM to mark the occasion.
This year, Earth Day will be celebrated under the theme “Give the Earth an Hour,” highlighting the importance of environmental awareness and energy conservation. The Cabinet Division has issued an official notification regarding the observance.
During the hour-long event, lights at Prime Minister House, Parliament, and the President’s House will be turned off. All federal ministries and institutions have also been instructed to switch off non-essential lighting to participate in the initiative.
