ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif here on Thursday told a group of lawmakers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that the government was working on different plans to eliminate electricity theft and provide relief to the citizens in their electricity bills.
Talking to members of national and provincial assemblies hailing from KP, he urged them to cooperate with the government in ending electricity theft. He said agricultural tubewells across the country were being shifted to solar energy. Besides, cultivated area will be increased and billions of dollars will be saved in terms of imported fuel.
He also said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and specially merged districts’ development was one of the top priorities of his government. He said Danish Schools will be opened to cater to poor and middle class of KP, particularly merged districts.
The lawmakers informed the prime minister about problems of their constituencies. Mr Sharif constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Ishaq Dar to find a lasting solution to the problems of the elected representatives.
