Grand Events Planned To Celebrate Independence Day on 14th

ISLAMABAD: Preparations are in full swing across the country to celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day on Thursday, 14th August, with great zeal and enthusiasm.

A grand event will be held at Parade Ground and Sports Complex in Islamabad. This year, Maraka-e-Haq celebrations have been added to the Independence Day to pay tributes to security forces for their role in the recent clashes with India.

Festivities in all provinces include cultural programs, decorations, rallies, and flag-hoisting ceremonies.

In major cities, streets and markets have been decorated with national flags, buntings, and colourful lights. Vendors are offering Independence Day merchandise, including flags, badges, and themed clothing, while public buildings are being illuminated with green and white lighting.

Schools and community centres are arranging special programs, speeches, and competitions for children to foster patriotic spirit.

Security agencies have finalized plans to ensure safety during the celebrations. Additional personnel will be deployed at public gatherings, with special traffic arrangements to manage large crowds. First-aid posts and information booths are also being set up in key locations to facilitate visitors.

The central ceremony will be held at Hazuri Bagh, where the Chief Minister will hoist the national flag. Maryam Nawaz will inaugurate the “Battle of Truth Park” at the Lahore Expo Centre, along with the unveiling of the Battle of Truth Museum and Memorial. People from all walks of life are expected to participate actively in the celebrations.

The State Bank of Pakistan has announced that all commercial banks will remain closed on 14th August, with no transactions to be carried out on the day.
