Islamabad: Internet users across Pakistan are currently facing significant slowdowns and disruptions in their service. Multiple Internet Service Providers (ISPs), including Nayatel and PTCL, have confirmed widespread connectivity issues affecting users nationwide.
Causes Behind the Slow Internet
According to a notice issued by Nayatel’s Technical Assistance Center, the slowdowns are attributed to several factors impacting both international traffic and access to key services.
The disruptions are primarily caused by congestion on international undersea cables, which are responsible for carrying data between Pakistan and the rest of the world. These issues are causing delays in accessing websites and services hosted abroad.
Widespread Impact on ISPs and Users
The slow internet speeds are not limited to any one region or provider, as multiple ISPs, including PTCL, have reported similar issues.
Users in major cities and remote areas alike are experiencing slower than usual speeds, with disruptions making it difficult for both individuals and businesses to maintain reliable internet connections.
The disruptions have affected users’ ability to access websites, stream videos, and use cloud-based services.
Ongoing Efforts to Resolve the Issue
Both Nayatel and PTCL have assured customers that they are working diligently to resolve the issue.
According to the companies, their technical teams are coordinating with international partners to restore normal service as quickly as possible.
However, experts predict that it may take several days for the full restoration of internet services across the country.
