Hundreds of Pakistani Researchers Among World’s Top Scientists

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has made history as hundreds of its researchers have been included in the list of the world’s top 2% most-cited scientists.

This recognition comes from Stanford University’s 2024 report, which is considered a global standard for scientific achievement.

Researchers from institutions such as Aga Khan University, National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), COMSATS University Islamabad, Bahauddin Zakariya University, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, Quaid-i-Azam University and Islamia University Bahawalpur have been recognized.

The list also includes former students along with current faculty members. Their work in fields like health, education, and agriculture has contributed significantly to progress in developing countries.

Notable names include AKU’s Dr. Zulfiqar A. Bhutta, Dr. Saleem S. Virani, Dr. Romina Iqbal and Dr. J. Kumar Das.

This annual list highlights Pakistan’s growing impact in global research and innovation.
